An extraordinary spectacle celebrates anew. The “Palio delle Contrade” is a local challenge with a genuinely historic flavour, involving the residents of five quarters within Bormio, the “reparti”.

The downhill race recalls the magnificent tradition of local skiing, with old wooden skies and traditional costume to the fore.

The impressive parade of skiers in appropriate dress, enriched by the whirlwind activities of their Reparti followers has ensured that this spectacular part of traditional winter programme is of huge importance and pulls huge crowds among which feature many delighted tourists.
